Finding ways to stop acid reflux symptoms can be as easy as walking into most grocery or drug stores and buying an over the counter product designed to deal with heartburn. Although most are considered safe for occasional use, continued problems may require a more concentrated effort to stop acid reflux. Typically, a change of lifestyle or eating habits can put an end to recurring indigestion, but there may be other issues causing the problems that will require medical intervention.

One of the most logical ways to stop acid reflux is not to over eat. When the stomach become too full, until the digestive process begins to empty the contents there is nowhere for it to go. A weakened lower esophageal sphincter muscle can allow some food and acid to be pushed back into the esophagus. This acid is strong enough to corrode metal and can quickly cause damage to the esophageal lining.

Methods Vary For Controlling Acid Reflux

Essentially, there are two methods of controlling acid reflux. One is to use products that absorb excess acid and the other is the use of products that reduce the amount of acid the body produces. However, one of the best ways to stop acid reflux is to eat smaller portions and if a food or drink items is shown to cause particular problems with indigestion, it should regularly be avoided.

As contrary as it may seem, many have found that to stop acid reflux they ingest a small quantity of vinegar. Although white vinegar is about five percent acidic acid, drinking a tablespoon in a glass of water tells the stomach there is enough acid to digest the food and tricks it into slowing production of the natural stomach acid.

Using commercial antacid products for occasionally stop acid reflux will probably not create any long term problems, but for chronic issues with indigestion it is wise to contact a physician to learn what needs to be done to stop acid reflux on a more permanent basis.

Preventing Heartburn Is Best Method For Relief

Even without the accompanying chest pain typically associated with excess stomach acid, acid reflux without heartburn can still cause damage to the esophagus and the open the sufferer to potential problems. Simply not feeling the pain in the chest does not mean the acid is not causing damage to the lining of the esophagus and a chronic cough or continued need to clear the throat may be signs that the throat tissues is being damaged.

If the person finds that certain foods tend to make these symptoms worse, or more frequent, they would be better served to avoid them, or at least talk to the doctor about products that can help reduce the amount of stomach acid that can cause acid reflux without heartburn. Often times, a change in diet is all it takes to eliminate acid indigestion.

If eliminating possible causes of acid reflux without heartburn does not seem to cure a cough or irritated throat, check with the doctor on other possible causes is recommended. Chronic throat irritation can also be a symptom of other medical conditions and will need to be checked out professionally.

This is either good or bad depending on how you want to look at it. Overall this is a good e-book, but not my favourit. I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

The Reflux Remedy Report is written by Bob Barton. This is a quality e-book that is a little shorter and to the point. I like how it is short, but somtimes the educational part can be usefull to understanding acid reflux more effectivly. Overall this is good, but falls short of competing against the others. I give it a 7.8 out of 10.
